I watched the series 1 preview clip earlier today (for like the billion time) and I must say that my head is spinning with ideas, expectations, worries, cheering and much, much more noise on top of all that! Seriously it seems like it's going to be such a fantastic (hehe) Whonian year this year! This spring Matt will begin as the eleventh Doctor, and then we have Torchwood season 4 which is going to be filmed at least and we're talking 13 episodes people!
But back to Matt Smith. I do think series 1 is going to be so great. I mean, sure David was great probably the best Doctor since Tom Baker, but people thought the same thing as they think of Matt now when David first arrived. And look at Billie Piper and Catherine Tate. People thought that they were going to do a poor job and look at Rose and Donnas' fanbase in the Whoniverse now!
I think it's a little sad that RTD is quitting, but then it's fun to see how Stephen Moffat will continue on this wonderful tale of our favourite Timelord. And Russell will still write for Torchwood, and SJA if it gets another season (I hope so), so he will not leave Whoniverse completely - and I think, personally, that Russell sometime in the future will write a Doctor Who-special or be a writer to the script of the rumored Doctor Who movie which is (if the rumors are true) going to be released 2013. I don't think that he'll be able to keep away which is good because he's got one of the best knack for stories I've ever seen!
But something that irks me is the look upon Karen Gillian's face at every picture I've seen of her in the preview or promotional pictures. She looks very surprised at every picture. I want to see some other emotion! And I want to know more of this Amy Pond. Is she a policewoman. I read somewhere that she couldn't be one since her skirt is too short, or something like that, and as I looked at some pictures of her on set in costume (I think) she looked far too young to be a police; but then I don't know. Also she seem to like her legs (or at least the costume assistant do), because I have yet to see Amy in jeans. I've seen her in skirts and shorts with tights underneath now. And that maybe evidence that she's just dressed up as a policewoman since that fashion is quite in the call now for people my age, and Karen Gillian is five years older than me.
I've also seen pictured of River Song in handcuffs. Now, what's up with that?! I hope they kill her off, or something. I don't like the character that much.
I also what to know more of that gun the Doctor is holding in the end of the preview. The Doctor is supposed to be against guns of all shapes and sizes, but still he fires it in the preview. I don't know if he is shooting something, or anyone.. maybe he's just starting a race or something.. but the look on his face is quite menacing. Does this mean that he's going to be aggressive/short tempered like the Sixth Doctor, or just a WHOLE new person with no traces of hate-for-guns in him? I'm anxiously waiting for spring, or at least a date. Right now spring 2010 is the only thing we Whoians have to go after and I want MORE!

I have slight problems in the fanfic-area at the moment. I have so many ideas but I have to brush away 50% of them because they are too Mary Sue and I don't want that word near Maia. The rest of the ideas are absolutely fantastic... it's just that they go away as so as I open up the assigned story or a new document. It is starting to get annoying.. so I really hope that this year will give me the motivation to finish the stories I've started, and give me lots of new ideas of stories to write.
Right now I'm trying to get past a block in a chapter called Shadows (which is somewhat based on a weird shadow me and my friend Johanna saw last November) which is about, excuse me, vampires. Vampires in Cardiff. But, hopefully, it won't turn out sappy like the-book-series-that-shan't-be-named and rather go down the Gothic Era-lane... like Dracula by Bram Stoker... Hitherto I got a headless body outside Maia's front door which belongs to her old boyfriend Feardorcha... and that's about how far I've got.
Then I have the one called Something in the Water which is telling the story on how Maia got in contact with Captain Jack Harkness again. I have like 5-6 pages, but right now I've come to a halt ... So I'm going to kill off some people.. And Maia is going to go to the sport's bar where the only found victim went to, to ask around a bit and then, as a part of her investigation, going to make herself drunk to see if the thing/person that's killing off people only go for people that are drunk... And I also have a thought of getting Owen drunk .. just because that would be fun to write.
And then I have the occasional ideas that come and go. Don't really stay which means that they are not THAT phenomenal. But I have a few that I'll try out in the future.
I also have my Doctor Who/Merlin crossover to finish. Haven't even OPENED the document since we came home from the UK.. heh..

So Being Human S2 starts on BBC3 this Sunday and I'm sooooo excited! The first series were SO good, and it ended with such a big cliffhanger that I would have been furious if they didn't get a second season. And Russell Tovey. Mmm-hmm! I can't see the trailers (Barrowman, grr) since I live in bloody Sweden where we can't get BBC (if it's not knowledge, entertainment, living and news).. I hope that SVT will get it later this spring, but I've probably seen it by then (hopefully). I was hoping that someone had uploaded at least ONE of the trailers on youtube but nope. Nothing.
